Seychelles hits road in UK with tour operator Kuoni |18 June 2007

Arrivals from the UK have seen a tremendous upswing so far in 2007, showing a 16 percent growth over the same period of 2006.

The Seychelles Tourism Board (STB) is hoping to continue to build on that success with Kuoni, which has for the first time in 2007 launched a dedicated brochure to better sell Seychelles to its clients.

“We’re thrilled to be able to work with Kuoni to drive more visitors to Seychelles,” said Wendy Betts, STB’s regional manager for the UK market. “This roadshow is a valuable opportunity to be able to educate the overseas trade about the new things that Seychelles has to offer, as well as to showcase our new brand to upwards of 100 travel agents at each venue.”

The Kuoni road show, which is taking place from June 11-21, marks the first time Seychelles will be present for all eight venues for the show, in Belfast, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Gatwick and Heathrow.

A number of other countries and travel organisations, from Asia and the Pacific to the Middle East and the Americas, are also participating, as well as neighbouring Mauritius and Maldives.

Representing Seychelles at the show will be STB’s marketing coordinator for the UK market, Marsha Parcou, and Ms Betts and Anna Chan from the STB’s UK office. Air Seychelles, Emirates and Hilton are also participating in the show.

STB will also be cooperating with Kuoni to bring 12 travel agents to Seychelles for an educational visit later this month, to better familiarise them with the destination and what the islands can offer their clients.
