Seychelles Polytechnic-Business studies students to benefit from Vijay computer donation |14 July 2007

The official handing over of the 20 Dell Dimension C521 computers and their accessories took place at the school on Thursday morning.

It was Vijay Patel, the managing director of the company, who handed over the computers to the director of the Seychelles Polytechnic, Audrey Nanon, in the presence of Joel De Commarmond, the course leader & instructor at the school and the person through whom the sponsorship came about; other teachers; members of staff and students.

Thanking Mr Patel for this generous and very useful donation, Ms Nanon said that these computers with their new programmes will be very essential to the institution and a great bonus to the learning process at the school.

She said it is the hope of the school that this kind of partnership will continue in the future.

For his part Mr Patel said that it is always a pleasure for his company to be called upon and be associated with a good cause.

“Education is an essential element of development,” he said, adding that the computers have become an “indispensable tool in learning” and that at this stage when students are establishing their profession “it is essential that they have the necessary equipment at their disposal”.

Mr Patel said he hopes that the students will derive the maximum benefits from the new equipment.
