Workshops on performance management systems open today |25 February 2008

Organised by the Seychelles Institute of Management (SIM) in collaboration with the Commonwealth Secretariat and the Department of Public Administration, the two workshops are targeting the key players in all government institutions and parastatal organizations.

The first workshop, which is for policy implementers who are director generals, directors and managers of human resources/personnel and public administration, starts today and will go on until Thursday February 28.

The second workshop, which is for the chief executives, will take place on Friday February 29.
The overarching objective of the workshops is to promote performance management system as a mechanism to drive improvement in public service organizations and institutions in order to improve public service delivery across the system.

Besides promoting the concepts, principles and practices of performance management systems in the public sector, the workshops will also provide the participants with the tools and techniques required to introduce a performance management system in their organization.

The workshops are funded mainly by the Governance and Institutional Development Division (GIDD) of the Commonwealth Secretariat and will be facilitated by one of their consultants.
