They were speaking after the launching of a new organisation called Soldiers for Christ, whose members use non-conventional ways of praise and worship and contemporary dances as well as drama to send their messages home.
The launching took place at the International Conference Centre (ICCS).
Among the leaders of the new group is Andrine Bacco, who recently received an award from the Ministry of Community Development for her work in transforming substance abusers into sober church goers.
A number of members of the new group told Nation that they used to drink alcohol excessively and were involved in drug abuse, but are now “delivered” and “receive and enjoy the salvation of Christ.”
