Brother of Abu Dhabi’s ruler dies in air crash-President sends message of condolence |04 June 2008

Sheikh Nasser died on Monday night when the helicopter carrying him and his colleagues crashed over Gulf waters (see story on page 10).

The following is the full text of President Michel’s message of condolence to His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan:
 
“It is with deep sorrow that we have learnt of the sudden and tragic death of his Highness Sheikh Nasser Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

“His Highness was a highly distinguished personality, much loved and respected by all those who knew him.

“In this moment of grief and mourning, the government and the people of Seychelles join me in expressing our heartfelt sympathies and deepest condolences to the people of Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emirates and your Highness’ family.

“Seychelles and the United Arab Emirates share a special kinship, and we wish to assure your Highness of our solidarity in this tragic moment.”
