Shangri-La’s Long Island Resort & Spa team meet STA officials |05 July 2008

Academy principal Flavien Joubert and Peter Moncherry, general manager for tourism development from the Seychelles Tourism Board under whose portfolio the STA falls, were both present.

During the friendly exchanges that took place, the Shangri-La resort members broadened their knowledge about the STA’s organisation and activities and the efforts being made to re-position the academy within the tourism industry in Seychelles.
 
The hosts were given an overview of the Shangri-La group and expectations of high standards Shangri-La will bring to the tourism industry in Seychelles.

The main achievement of the visit was that the Shangri-La team accepted Mr Joubert’s offer to use the academy premises and facilities to carry out the resort’s pre-opening training and discussed temporarily lodging some of its employees there should the need arise.

The resort’s members had the chance to tour the academy’s facilities, and both parties agreed on a mutual understanding to develop a strong training partnership.
