‘Bond girls’ to join Seychellois firms at London Boat Show |13 December 2008
Sunseeker (Seychelles) Ltd and Sunseeker Charter (Seychelles) Ltd will be at the show, along with two lucky Seychellois “Bond girls”, Stephanie Latulippe and Vanessa Pillay.
The girls will accompany Christian Graefe, the managing director of Sunseeker (Seychelles), and will meet and have a photo shoot with James Bond actors Daniel Craig and Olga Kurylenko.
Stephanie and Vanessa will also meet the managing director of Sunseeker International, Robert Braithwaite, and have the chance to visit the firm’s headquarters in Poole, on England’s south coast, where the luxury motor yachts are built.
Two other “Bond girls”, Anisa Ally and Genevieve Lloyd, will accompany Mr Graefe to a show in Cape Town, South Africa, in March next year.
All four girls were awarded their prizes at a special event at the ‘8’ restaurant in Glacis by Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, and David Savy, chief executive of Air Seychelles, who gave a 50% discount on the four girls’ tickets.
The girls were chosen out of eight other “Bond girls” who helped Sunseeker (Seychelles) in hosting the red-carpet premiere of the James Bond film Quantum of Solace in mid-November on behalf of Sunseeker International.
New to Seychelles shores, Sunseeker is a maker of luxury motor yachts and has a close partnership with the producers of Quantum of Solace. Both partners will attend the London Boat Show, along with 600 other exhibitors at the ExCel centre, which will be turned into a boat lover’s heaven.
Sunseeker will display the Superhawk 43 Quantum of Solace Special Edition, which is featured in the movie. This boat, with a top speed of 50 knots, combines luxury and power and can accommodate up to four people. Only seven have been built, and Seychelles is expecting one of them early next year, to form part of the fleet of an independent charter company.
“The introduction of Sunseeker to Seychelles will bring an exclusive clientele to our islands,” says Amrion Gendron, director of Sunseeker Charter (Seychelles), and Seychelles’ presence at the London Boat Show will give Seychelles excellent publicity around the world as a top-end tourism destination.
“Seychelles is the first country in the Indian Ocean where Sunseeker is venturing in a big way, and this exceptional brand product is sure to positively impact on the tourism industry in Seychelles.”
The official opening of Sunseeker (Seychelles) will be held early next year, along with the opening of a state-of-the-art service centre later in the year and an independent charter service.
