More French travel agents get SMART |07 February 2009

The agents, who were here from January 21-27, took part in various workshops and classes on Seychellois cuisine, sega dancing, golf and the Creole language.

They visited a variety of places on Mahe, Praslin, La Digue and Denis Island, allowing them to enjoy a real taste of Seychelles and to sample different types of accommodation ranging from luxury hotels to small guest houses.

Thanks to the group’s initiative and genuine interest, the trip turned out to be a real success.

The Seychelles Tourist Office (STO) in France would like to thank all partners who collaborated in organising the visit – Air Seychelles, Creole Travel Services, St Anne Resort and Spa, Denis Island, Le Duc de Praslin, Constance Lemuria, Hilton Northolme Seychelles, Indian Ocean Lodge, Villas de Mer and Brittania, Skychef, and Dream Yacht Charter and Blue Sea Divers for the sailing and diving lessons.

After this training programme, the travel agents are now certified ‘Seychelles agents’ and equipped to better promote the Seychelles Islands.

The STO already has 40 certified travel agents in France. Having followed the training programme and reached the target of five bookings, another group of agents will soon be making an educational trip to Seychelles.
