SNP launches new theme, logo and website |13 April 2010
Mr Ramkalawan addressing the gathering during Sunday’s conference
The new theme, along with the party’s new logo and website were launched on Sunday during a national conference which took place at the International Conference Centre in the presence of party leader Wavel Ramkalawan.
The party’s executive committee members and members of the National Assembly were also present at the event described as “symbolical and significantly important”.
Mr Ramkalawan said the theme is a call to ensure that every child born in Seychelles gets the best available possibilities which will prevent them from getting into bad influences but instead steer them towards prosperity.
This, he said, should start with a proper education followed by a good career.
He also said the theme is a call to guarantee no discrimination and to make every Seychellois proud by giving them a sense of ownership in our beloved Seychelles.
Mr Ramkalawan reminded the activists that they are the ambassadors of the party and that their responsibility is to approach others at community level and spread the message. A message, which he said, will help the people to better understand “the difficult but noble task” being carried out by the party.
Launching the party’s new logo, deputy secretary general Jean-François Ferrari asked party members to wear the logo “with pride and respect as real patriots”.
When he launched the party’s new website – www.snpseychelles.sc – member of the National Assembly Gervais Henrie, who is also the party’s media liaison officer, said it will keep members on track with new development.
He added that through its various features, the website will also bring party members closer together through effective communications.
The gathering ended with a musical show.
