Cable & Wireless launches ‘Aldabra’ international calling card |19 August 2010
Branded as the Aldabra card, it allows people in Seychelles to call any country around the globe. Calls to the most popular countries can be made at a rate as low as R3 per minute (incl. GST), and calls to other countries will be charged at a flat rate of R6 per minute (incl. GST).
Aldabra calling rates have been carefully priced to ensure users are getting maximum value for the countries they are most likely to call.
Even the flat rate to other countries is less than the standard international calling rates on offer, saving money for the caller every time!
What makes Aldabra different?
Aldabra is different from other similar international calling services on the market as it offers the lowest calling rates and can be used on any Cable & Wireless mobile or fixed-line phone, including call boxes.
Provided there is enough credit on your card, international calls can be placed anytime, anywhere and more than once within 15 days of using the card for the first time.
Aldabra is also a prepaid service, so there are no bills, no contracts and no rentals to worry about.
Users are in total control of their international call budget and can spend as little or as much as they can afford.
The cards come in two denominations – R35 and R60 – allowing for 10 minutes and 20 minutes of talk time to popular countries at the best rates.
Popular countries include: Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Philippines, Qatar, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE, USA and most European countries (excluding Albania, Belarus and Latvia).
Other countries can be called at the flat rate, although less talk time will be available on the Aldabra card.
Commenting on the importance of the new Aldabra international calling card, Charles Hammond, chief executive of Cable & Wireless Seychelles, said: “People want to stay in touch with loved ones, family members and business associates around the world, and a phone call is more personal than other modern ways to communicate such as email.
“The Aldabra calling card allows customers to do just that at rates as low as R3 per minute, which is significantly less than standard market rates. This, combined with the choice and flexibility that the service offers, makes Aldabra the No. 1 choice for international calls.”
