PTA bank updates its chairman VP Faure |05 October 2010
Mr Hamza is the bank’s director for human resources and administration and is based in Nairobi, Kenya.
He said Mr Faure needs to know everything that is happening at the bank so its officials travel to Seychelles “as often as necessary”.
Mr Hamza said he had talks with Mr Faure about the bank, including a proposed increase of capital by member countries and recent meetings held by the bank in several countries.
The tenure of the bank’s president ends in March and by that time a successor will need to be appointed, he said.
Mr Hamza said Seychelles has done well since taking over the chairmanship two months ago after hosting the bank’s 26th annual board meeting, which he said was efficiently organised.
He renewed the bank’s invitation for Seychellois business people to make use of the bank’s lending facilities.
The PTA Bank has supported Seychelles, especially through its trade financing window, for example by making loans available to the Seychelles Petroleum Company to buy fuel.
It was also part of a syndicate that financed the Ephelia Resort at Port Launay, the largest in the western Indian Ocean.
