Air Seychelles appoints Seychellois departmental deputy directors |12 July 2011
The deputy director scheme is also being seen amongst other objectives as executive replacement planning, on-going leadership staffing and widespread sourcing and development of talent and skills in strategic areas that require broad organisational involvement.
The newly appointed deputy directors are Ginny Mangroo (Finance), Lisette Wong (Human Resources), Hubert Laval (IT & Telecommunications), Nicole Mancienne (Marketing & Sales), Nicole Chang Leng (Flight Operations), Vania Larue (Ground Operations), Jean Laporte (Technical Operations) and Christopher Samsoodin (Freight Services).
A deputy director will deputise during the absence of a director and will be allocated special tasks such as staff welfare, analysis of budget performance, co-ordination of regular reports, organisation of departmental management meetings as well as other technical and operational work.
To date Air Seychelles has eight departmental directors who form part of its Level One management team and head of departments. They are Lekha Nair( Finance), Marja Karjalainen (Human Resources, Training & Administration), Nicole Mancienne (Acting Director for Marketing & Sales), Captain Ralph Saminaden (Flight Operations), Gilbert Morin (Ground Operations), Marc Chang Lam (IT & Telecommunications), Martyn Malcolmson (Technical Operations) and Majid Allibhaye (Freight Services).
Air Seychelles’ executive chairman, Maurice Loustau-Lalanne, said : “As part of the airline’s management succession and planning process, the deputy directors have been identified and selected, based on their managerial competencies, enhanced performance trends and leadership skills.”
He explained that the deputy director scheme leads to multi-layer leadership, organisational performance and competency development and at the same time have a strategic development of talent and skills with the transfer of knowledge required for an evolving management style.
