Escape Spa … set yourself free on Desroches

A buggy ride around the island preceded the official opening of the spa

The Escape Spa on Desroches Island offers what many of us long for after a stressful week at work.

Going to a spa is often seen as a luxury, but the true fact is that when you step out of the room, you do not only look relaxed and fresh but your whole body feels healthier. Feeling relaxed, healthy and with a sense of inner harmony – this is the true luxury.

Escape offers its clients a chance to drift away from the real world of worries and stress. The spa provides an escape to a world of new experiences.

A new world which a group of people -- who included chief executive of Islands Development Company Glenny Savy and that of the Seychelles Tourism Board Alain St Ange, representatives from travel agencies and the print media -- visited recently at the official opening of the Escape Spa.

Also present at the ceremony were the Desroches Island Resort general managers Renee and Mark Leslie, spa therapists and staff of the resort.

Impressed

After a tour of the island and its private villas, the Mahé team headed to a tranquil part of the island, with only the sound of the waves breaking the silence.

The Wow! from the visitors as they got off the buggies was surely a sign that they were all impressed with the warm welcome from the staff and the top-class architecture that stood before us.

Everyone was impatient to step inside and see what Escape Spa has to offer but the tour had to be done after the spa was officially opened by Messrs Savy and St Ange.

Messrs St Ange and Savy addressing the gathering

Proud of Derosches’ achievements, Mr Savy said the hotel has come a long way and he is personally happy of what has been achieved during those years.

He added that the newly opened spa brings a different product to Seychelles and thanked all those who have helped in making Desroches what it is today.

Mr St Ange said he is impressed with the development on Desroches and congratulated it for moving a step further.
He re-affirmed the STB’s support to the tourism development on the island and to its staff.

Escape Spa

Escape Spa has been developed with simplicity and natural elements in mind. It has been specially designed to experience renewed powers and stability from surrounding trees and wood, coolness, refreshment and cleansing abilities from the sea.

The spa provides massages, manicure and pedicure, facials and several other treatments.

The massage room offers different types of massage which includes Ayurveda, Swedish back massage, Shiatsu and the Pea in a pod, a massage for mothers-to-be.

It also offers the Escape massage which has been designed to relax the mind and body by combining a number of techniques.

The well-trained spa angels will surely leave your body feeling stressed-free and healthy.

The taste of world-class products

The spa uses mainly elemental herbology, a brand formulated to help restore equilibrium and achieve healthy and radiant skin.

Dr Hauschka skin care products are also used at the spa. The products contain no synthetic fragrances and are free from synthetic preservatives and colouring agents.

SUNDÃRI is an essential part of a lifestyle that enables you to achieve harmony and balance in mind, body and spirit as you journey through life.

A world- class, distinctive collection of anti-aging skincare products created from the purest ingredients and rarest essences distilled from nature.

SUNDÃRI blends modern science for immediate results with botanicals known through ancient wisdom.
Elemental embrace, enhancers and rituals are also treatments offered at the Escape spa.

The spa rooms

A smile … this will be the first reaction as you enter one of the rooms. The first step inside will surely lead you onto a new path of peace and harmony.

The foyer exudes warmth and tranquillity

The spa is made up of four treatment rooms which have been built using resources from the island.

Escape rooms have been built in a perfect setting as they face the sea, so while relaxing and enjoying their treatments, clients can also connect with nature.

The architecture of the building, the interior of the rooms and the colours blend well with the natural surroundings ...

Set yourself free

Before leaving the island, the team from Mahé had the chance to enjoy a treatment of their choice at the spa, a perfect gift before heading back to the busy life on the main island.

The Escape spa team has this to say to their clients … set yourself free, give in to temptation, escape reality…breathe and succumb to peace and tranquillity.
