Barclays brings new banking experience to its customers |07 May 2012
The launch took place last Wednesday at the new Premier centre located on the ground floor of the Capital City building.
The centre was officially opened by Minister for Finance, Trade and Investment Pierre Laporte.
In an interview after the official launch of this new service, the bank’s managing director Rakesh Jha said Barclays have been offering services in the country for more than 50 years and has been offering prestige services for some time to its clients.
“We have now gone one step beyond that with the introduction of what is called premier and it represents an experience,” he said.
It provides customers with a one-stop shop where they can come to their dedicated relationship manager to cater for all their banking needs.
“Whether it is deposits, loans, cards or ATM, all banking services will be catered for by the dedicated relationship manager,” he said.
Apart from the personalised services, the Premier banking service allows clients to enjoy many benefits which include an internet bar, exclusive offers and discounts from the bank’s alliance partners and longer opening hours.
The Premier banking services will be available to all current Prestige customers as well as new clients who meet the requirements.
Noting that the year has been an important one for Barclays, Mr Jha said the bank will also launch other services during the year which include internet and mobile banking.
Those at the launch on Wednesday included leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly David Pierre, chairman of the bank’s board Lee Weeling, staff and several customers.
Minister Laporte congratulated Barclays for such initiative in moving banking one step higher.
He added that it is one of the services that clients has been waiting for and sees it as an example for other banks to follow.
Mr Jha said Barclays seeks to continually innovate and bring its customers solutions that not only meet but exceed expectations.
The new Barclays Premier proposition is a fine example of this, he said.
“We will very soon be adding internet banking facilities for this segment of customers, in an endeavour to continue bringing customers a service of the highest level,” he said.
The bank’s retail director Mandeep Chaudhary said the bank is continually working to expand its products and services, and is confident that this proposition and centre will be up to the expectations of Barclays’ customers.
