Eureka Specialist Medical clinic celebrates first year anniversary |02 June 2014
It was in May 2013 that the first specialist clinic in Seychelles – Eureka Specialist Medical Clinic – opened its door.
Eureka Specialist Medical clinic, which celebrated its first anniversary this week, is going from strength to strength.
With four permanent highly qualified specialists, namely a consultant general surgeon, an orthopedic surgeon, a cardiologist, a physician and a consultant anesthetist, and the team of well-qualified nurses, the clinic is providing a much-needed complimentary health service to the national health services and to other general practitioners clinics.
The clinic is conveniently situated at Anse Etoile opposite the police station, and has easy parking facilities for over 30 vehicles, and is only 5 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Victoria. It opens Monday to Friday from 9am to 4.30pm, and also every alternate Saturdays.
The clinic provides consultation by a general surgeon, an orthopedic surgeon, a physician, a cardiologist and a pain management specialist.
It intends to bring in shortly a pediatrician, and a dermatologist by the end of the year. The specialists can attend to all matters of internal medicines, respiratory problems, diabetes, hypertension, heart, skin tumors, cysts, lymphomas, warts, skin lesions, queloids, genital warts, breast lump, breast biopsy, thyroid biopsy, hemorrhoid, perianal problems, hernias, gastric problems, liver.
It also provides all orthopedic services including hand surgery, foot surgery, knee and shoulder arthroscopy, and spinal problems.
The clinic performs surgeries every Thursday in its well-equipped surgical theatre.
“The shareholders are considering plans for further investment into more equipment which would provide the clinic with more self-sufficiency and improve it leverage for sustainability. In the longer term the company may consider building a 20-room hospital in order to provide more comprehensive service to patients,” said the company chairman Chrystold Chetty.
