Education minister meets returning graduates |23 June 2014
The Minister for Education, Macsuzy Mondon, has met four secondary teachers who recently returned from further studies overseas.
Jourdan Victor, Mawess Wirtz, Georgianna Jacques and Guilliane Didon are all in-service science teachers who have completed a two-year Bachelor in Education degree course at the University of Botswana.
The meeting between the minister and the teachers was also attended by the principal secretary for education Merida Delcy, the director general for schools Odile Octave, and the director of training and development section at the Agency of National Human Resource Development (ANHRD) Françoise Mein.
Welcoming the graduates, Minister Mondon, commended them for having successfully completed their studies and returning to continue teaching in Seychelles.
She urged them to act as mentors to their fellow teachers and to continue sharing the knowledge they have gained from their studies.
The meeting was an opportunity for the graduates to also share their experience, benefits as well as challenges so as to provide the ministry and ANHRD with the necessary feedback for further consideration when sending teachers for further training in Botswana.
The graduates also expressed their appreciation to the government for having given them the opportunity for further training and they are all eager to return to teaching.
