Local IT firm VCS voted best in Africa |11 July 2014

Local IT and office solutions company VCS (Pty) Limited has been awarded the coveted title of ‘Xerox Africa Operations Distributor of the Year 2013’.

The title has been conferred on VCS by Bytes Documents Solutions of South Africa, the authorised distributor of Xerox office products and document management solutions in 26 sub-Saharan African countries.

The announcement was made at the annual Xerox Africa Distributors Conference held in April at the Emperors Palace in Johannesburg, South Africa, and celebrated VCS’ outstanding achievements in Xerox sales growth, services and innovation in Seychelles.

“We congratulate VCS and its entire team on this achievement and we are proud to have such a professional partner in the Seychelles,” said Craig Schweitzer, GM for Africa Operations at Bytes Document Solutions.

“VCS has clearly demonstrated its commitment to providing superior solutions and support for its Xerox customers, and this award is a clear indication of the company’s dedication, hard work and customer-centric ethos”.

VCS was represented at the ceremony by Stephen Faure, one of the Xerox Business Development managers for Seychelles who was also awarded the ‘Xerox Sales Manager for the year 2013 – 2014’ title at the same ceremony.

“Our company has been offering Xerox products in Seychelles for over two decades and we were able to double our sales revenue by offering custom solutions to many new customers while continuing to offer innovative Xerox machines, consumables and paper products to our large existing base of customers,” Mr Faure said.

“Not only do we offer and stock one of the largest office automation range of products in Seychelles, but one of the keys to our success is the after-sales service that we offer to our valued customers, including 24-hour onsite support with 2 to 4-hour response times from our Xerox trained technical team”.

The Managing Director of VCS, Gilbert Lebon, added that “this is a great accomplishment for our company especially considering the fact that we had fierce competition from much larger economies such as South Africa, Mauritius, Botswana and Mozambique. It is the result of perseverance and the hard work of our dedicated Xerox team at VCS, and the fact that a few years ago we adopted a new strategy to improve the level of our customer and technical support and invested heavily in recruiting new technicians and sending them for overseas training; we can now see the results and benefits”.

As the authorised Xerox distributor for Seychelles, VCS offers businesses large and small a full range of multi-function printers/copiers, scanners, software, consumables, spares and also paper.

Stefan Houareau, the other Xerox Business Development manager for Seychelles, commented: “The fact that we can cater for a small business operation requiring an all-in-one A4-size colour printer/copier/scanner or a networkable A3-size Workcentre for a medium size operation to production capacity digital press, is proof that Xerox has a solution for everyone.”

“The equipment range is now becoming more intelligent and features such as wireless printing can only ease the lives of our customers while monitoring software allows businesses to control costs by cutting down on unauthorised system usage,” he added.

Growing its Xerox business in Seychelles remains a key part of the growth strategy for VCS and being part of the Xerox global distribution network enables the company to serve the Seychelles business community by helping customers to choose the right technology while ensuring that they are able to receive the high-quality levels of service for which Xerox is renowned worldwide.

“Our strategic partnerships and commitment to training for our regional distributors have taken the Xerox business to the next level. VCS has clearly demonstrated its commitment to providing superior solutions and support to its Xerox customers and this award simply confirms the dedication and commitment made by the entire VCS organisation,” Mr Schweiter concluded.
