Mervin Camille releases new spiritual album |05 February 2015

Mervin Camille has just released a new album of spiritual songs originally composed and sung by David Philoe.
This is certainly good news for all his devoted fans across Seychelles.

“I have decided to release this album so that everyone can enjoy and distract themselves from their worries with these lovely melodies,” Mervin stated.
Besides Mervin’s, other serene voices featuring on this album are those of Jany, Liliana Quatre and Marsha Philoe, who is actually the daughter of David Philoe.

The songs were recorded mostly in the ‘Sound on Sound’ studio owned by Peter Jules and his drum tracks were recorded at ‘Labas Studio’.

Mervin has been working on the album since August 2014 and the CD was released on Monday last week. Some of the popular songs that fans can expect to hear include Bondye Ed Mwan, Mars Ver Bondye e Aprose Mon Frer.

Mervin had initially planned to surprise David Philoe with this album on the day that David was celebrating 45 years in music; however, that was not possible for personal reasons. In any case, this did not change his feelings towards the album and in fact he had more time to work on it and make it as good as it can be.

Mervin would like to say a big thank you to David Philoe for allowing him to use his songs and for helping him reach where he is today.
“I really appreciate everything he has done for me and I would like to wish him good luck in his life,” Mervin said.

The CDs cost R125 apiece and are on sale at Kot Do, Ray’s Music Room, Saint Fidèle, at Aden e Ayun on Praslin and Marston on La Digue.
However, if a person decides to buy the CD from Mervin himself, it will cost only R100.
