Happy 104th birthday Josephine Bibi! |23 September 2015

It was under a decoration of yellow balloons and ribbons and with songs being played by a family band in the background that Josephine Bibi of Port Glaud celebrated her 104th birthday.

Yesterday’s ceremony took place at the former day care centre at Port Glaud.

One of the oldest females of the Port Glaud district, Mrs Bibi was serenaded by her grandchildren as Jany De Létourdie’s song titled Manman was played.

She then took her seat next to two of her daughters – former member of the National Assembly of Port Gaud Ginette Gamatis and Paulette Mathiot.

Also present were member of the National Assembly Sultane Jacqueline, members of the senior citizens club, as well as Mrs Bibi’s grandchildren and great grandchildren who made sure their elder’s birthday was an unforgettable one.

Amid the speeches, cutting of cakes and birthday songs, were also hampers from President James Michel offered by Jenita Laporte and another one from the Port Glaud senior citizens club.

Happy birthday Mrs Bibi!
