IS VAT applied on all products? |07 September 2016

Value Added Tax (VAT) is a consumption tax charged on the sale of goods and services to consumer. It is also considered as a broad-based tax charged at the point of entry on the importation of goods except those specifically exempted under the VAT Act 2010.

The following table shows a list of goods which are exempted from VAT under the VAT Act 2010.

Note that in the above list some goods have been categorized and there are specific goods under each category that are considered as exempted goods. For a detailed list of exempted good under the VAT Act (2010) please refer to the VAT SI (4) of 2014 which can be found on the SRC website.

For more information you can contact the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC) on 4294937, or email us on vat@src.gov.sc. The Value Added Tax Act, 2010 is also available for download on the SRC website (www.src.gov.sc)
