Basketball: National league - Beau Vallon keep up the heat, Ex-Champs out |20 September 2016
Beau Vallon Heat are edging more and more closer to their first ever league title after collecting another victory last weekend, while Ex-Champs have been disqualified from the league after failing to show up for two consecutive games.
Men’s division one leaders Beau Vallon Heat were in action against MBU Rockers and they claimed a big 101-58 win to keep their title hopes firmly alive. Timmy Adam was the top scorer with 26 points in this game.
Coach Guy Hall’s men have really been playing some great basketball this season, with recruits such as Steven André and Timmy Adam, joining the likes of Robert Léon and the promising Taryl Hall in making a charge to the league title.
In another first division game played last weekend, defending champions Mont Fleuri Dawgz and Praslin Warriors played out a low-scoring affair as the former managed to grab a 58-38 win. Cyril Agrippine scored 18 points to lead his side to victory.
Meanwhile, Ex-Champs – a team made up of formers stars – have now been disqualified from the men’s second division league after they failed to show up for two successive games.
The nail in the coffin for the side came on Saturday when they failed to take to the court against AB Boys, thus losing by walkover for the second game in a row.
