Beenie Man to give ‘nothing but the best’ |29 September 2016
‘King of Dancehall’ Beenie Man is promising “nothing but the best” when he will deliver a crowd-pleasing performance at the mini stadium (La Promenade field) on October 1, 2016.
The most anticipated show which was scheduled to take place in August will finally happen this Friday.
The show, which will begin at 7pm, will also feature Ambitious with Liberation Band who will kick off the show. The show will last for four hours – two hours of Ambitious, and the remaining two hours will belong to Beenie Man.
Among Beenie Man’s many hit songs are ‘Dance Hall Queen’, ‘The Slam’, ‘Who I Am’, ‘Foundation’, ‘Greatest Gall’, among others.
The ‘King of Dancehall’ is very popular among the youths, who like to listen to Jamaican reggae artists.
Beenie Man incorporates various styles such as techno, R&B, hip-hop, and Latin rhythms into his work. The artist has also pushed the boundaries of reggae to become a top Jamaican artist.
Beenie Man will be live in Seychelles thanks to Hype Production and sponsors Dynamics, Cat Cocos and Shawarma House.
The spokesperson for the Beenie Man show, Gustave De Comarmond, stated that the show will be delightful.
“After we postponed the concert in August we expected a lot of people to return their tickets for refunds but barely anyone did. I think only two tickets were returned. If anything tickets have been selling for the past month even with no marketing during election periods,” he said.
He added that the shows will also feature the best reggae artist in Seychelles, Ambitious.
“We have Ambitious, the best reggae artist in Seychelles, who hasn’t performed in a long time and people have been asking for him. So we decided to get him to do a full concert before Beenie Man. So effectively you are getting two concerts for the price of one. Plus, ironically, he is the only artist in the region to have a song with Beenie Man. The track ‘Woman MiFavour’ featuring Beenie Man comes from Ambitious’ on the album ‘JahAnytime’. It was recorded in Seychelles with mixing done in Canada,” he said.
Mr De Comarmond also stated that they are much better prepared to control the crowd for public safety.
“We have made a couple of changes for public safety and comfort. We have received permission to close the road next to the mini stadium. So we will be implementing queueing barrier entrance policy for safe crowd control. We also have toilet facilities inside the venue, as well as various food and drinks stalls.”
All tickets already purchased for the show which was scheduled for August 6 will be honoured at the October 1 concert, along with a raffle whereby you can win one return flight to any Air Seychelles destination and other amazing prizes on the concert date.
Victoria has welcome many talented international artists in the past months such as Konshens, Radio & Weasel, Charly Black and Demarco among others.
And on Saturday we welcome the ‘King of Dancehall’ Beenie Man in person.
If you want to witness the ‘King of Dancehall’ in Seychelles tickets are still on sale at Creole Travel Services on State House Avenue, House of Shawarma, and La Faya Bar at R200.VIP tickets cost R350 apiece.
