Post-mortem results |01 October 2016

Earlier this week postmortem was carried out on Jonathan Gabriel, the 57-year-old man who was reported to have fallen into the sea off Silhouette while coming back to Mahé from a fishing trip. His cause of death is asphyxia consistent with drowning. Mr Gabriel was epileptic.

Postmortem carried out on Nelson Godley, the 62-year-old man whose body was found behind a building opposite Belonie secondary school on Wednesday has revealed that he died of lungs, liver problems and also epilepsy.

As for Johanes Bongani Masina, the 31-year-old male who was found unresponsive in his room at his workplace at Baie Lazare, his cause of death is severe brain edema, bilateral pulmonary edema and epilepsy.

Mr Masina is the second relatively young South African to have died suddenly here recently following that of 47-year-old Trevor Kurt Kolodziej who was working as a project manager with Laxmanbai Company.  Postmortem carried out on Mr Kolodzief, who was staying at Eden Island at the time of his death, had revealed that he died from heart attack. The incident happened last month.
