Ky-Mani Marley & RDX bring reggae vibes to Victoria |16 February 2017

The son of the legendary reggae singer Bob Marley, Ky-Mani Marley, alongside RDX, regaled the large crowd that showed up for their live concert on Saturday night.

Many reggae fans showed up to witness history in the making by having two concerts in one for the first time in Seychelles organised by Cable and Wireless Seychelles, Deba Store and Elijah.

People were delighted to have the son of Bob Marley perform his father’s songs, which can still be heard all around the world by millions of people.

Ki-Many Marley was really excited to be able to represent his father in such concert.

“Every time I perform, I have the same message as my father: ‘One love, one aim, and one destiny’. I never do a show without singing at least some of my father’s songs. It is always important for me to get back to the roots where it has started for us,” he said.

Alongside Ky-Mani Marley was the famous group from Jamaica RDX.

RDX members are Deejay Renigade (Carlton Williams) from the community of Waterhouse and Singer Delomar (Andre Bedward) who hails from the community of Kencot both in Kingston, Jamaica.
Both artists first started out in the dancehall reggae business in 2003 as members of a group call ‘Xsytment’.

“When we perform, we like to have a good connection with the crowd. For us to be able to perform for the legendary singer Bob Marley was truly a blessed moment,” they said.

Before the start of the show many local artists such as Coky, K.S. Louis Gang, Champion, SwaggTune, Mercenary among otherswere also present to warm up the evening.

Also alongside such talented artists was DJ Mad Man from Seychelles, who was replacing the RDX’s own DJ who was not able to come for the concert due to heavy blizzard in north-east USA.

It is thanks to Cable and Wireless Seychelles that RDX’s trip was made successful and the group was able to perform last Saturday night.
