Debate on the national budget continues in the National Assembly |24 February 2017

Nine budgets approved in two days

 

Budgets of nine entities were approved by the National Assembly during the sittings on Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Drugs Enforcement Agency’s original budget of R64,773,000 was slashed by R10,000,000 before it was approved by the assembly which has taken quite a while to scrutinise the agency’s spending.

As for the Seychelles Revenue Commission (SRC), its budget of R114,537,000 was approved after a lengthy debate.

Other budgets approved during the two days are for Fair Trading Commission (R12,267,000), Seychelles Licensing Authority (R14,035,000), Procurement Oversight Unit and National Tender Board (R8,306,000), Small Business Finance Agency (R32,042,000), Public Enterprise Monitoring Commission (R6,564,000), Tax and Customs Agent Board, Government Audit Committee and Postal Regulatory Agency (R3,864,000), Other Wages and Salaries and Other Goods and Services (R319,116,000).
