Upgrades prolonged for refined dental care |13 May 2017
The re-opening of the Anse Royale and Les Mamelles dental clinics have been pushed to a later date due to further work required on the new facilities.
Additional construction work is needed on the waiting area and reception at Anse Royale Hospital and on the two adult surgeries at the Les Mamelles Health Centre.
“The upgrading of these facilities will enable us to improve the standard of care and to provide our patients with a better service,” says Dr Danny Louange, chief executive of the Health Care Agency. “Currently, necessary equipment are being installed.”
The Les Mamelles and Anse Royale dental clinics will be equipped with a digital x-ray machine which will greatly reduce referrals made to the Yellow Roof dental facility and modern dental chairs that will enhance comfort of patients.
The public is advised to make use of other provided facilities during these upgrades.
The Health Care Agency has said that Les Mamelles patients should continue to go to the Yellow Roof dental clinics where appropriate provisions have been made. Patients will have round-the-clock assistance from one dentist, one dental therapist and two dental surgery assistants.
Anse Royale patients should continue to use the Anse Boileau Health Centre services set up following the closing of the Anse Royale dental clinic. These patients may also visit the Baie Lazare and Anse Aux Pins dental clinics at their convenience.
