Children’s Day message from CEO and staff of IECD |01 June 2018
‘Children of today, our keepers tomorrow’
|
“June 1 is a day of fun and celebration for the children, let us take a moment to appreciate the joy that they bring into our lives and appreciate that ‘Children of today are our keepers of tomorrow’.
This comes in a message from chief executive Shirley Choppy and staff of the Institute for Early Childhood Development (IECD).
The full text of the message reads:
“International Children's Day reminds us of the sad plight of some children and the need to continue to work to protect them from unsafe situations, whether that is in their own homes, schools, and communities or in some parts of the world in their workplace. It should also remind us of the responsibility that adults have to nurture these tender little minds, bodies and souls for the future.
“If we are to realise this year’s theme and live the wonderful lyrics of the famous song above (Greatest Love of All) we must make it our duty to help our children lead fruitful lives full of new experiences and adventure. June 1 is a day of fun and celebration for the children, let us take a moment to appreciate the joy that they bring into our lives and appreciate that ‘Children of today are our keepers of tomorrow’.
“Dear children enjoy your day and remember believe in yourselves and love who you are because you must believe that you are needed to make this world a better place.”
