The Mont Fleuri primary school has received a donation of chairs from the Seychelles Centennial Women Lions Club alongside the K.D Pillay Foundation.
The handover of the donation took place yesterday at the school.
Sashi Senthil, Trustee of K.D Pillay Foundation and also daughter of the late Mr Deenu, explained that the donation came after the Women Lions Club solicited the foundation’s help.
“Our foundation is one where we help the needy and serve the community. We thought it was a good project to help the school and the students,” sais Mrs Senthil.
She also said that the donation is in commemoration of her late father’s 80th birthday.
“Since our motto is ‘To Serve’, we feel that we had to give to the community. Whenever we get a request which we think we can fulfil and which we think will be beneficial, we will definitely go forward and assist,” said Uma Ramani, President of the Seychelles Centennial Women Lions Club.
The school’s head teacher, Daniella Antat, expressed her gratitude for the donation which she said will benefit the school in many ways.
“I feel good, because we were very much in need of seating facilities for school use as there was a lack of chairs when I took over at the school. These chairs will be of great use for us especially when we have activities such as parents’ meeting where we have to cater for a large number of people,” she noted.
